Dr. Ratale Henry Matji :

Dr Ratale Henry Matjie spent 37 years, 11 months at the Global Petro-chemicals and Energy Giant, Sasol Limited and universities (North-West University (NWU) and Vaal University of Technology (VUT), South Africa (SA). He is an expert in renewable energy (biogas, solar, biofuels, etc.). Dr Matjie brings into Morwakoma Matji investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd (“MMIH”) global experience in renewable energy from various sources (i.e., Biomass, Solar, waste to energy, etc.). Dr Matjie’ s research interests have ranged widely from: Froth-flotation of Coals and Ores, Coal Ash Characterizations and Utilizations, Extraction of High-value Inorganic Elements/ Rare Earth Elements from Coal/Biomass ashes, Spent Catalysts, Tailings and Ores by Pyro and Hydrometallurgical methods, Coal Characterizations, Solvent Extraction, Flocculation, Agglomeration, Waste Classification and Management, Coal Combustion, Renewable Energy Projects (Pyrolysis/co-pyrolysis coals, coal fine wastes and biomasses, Liquefaction of Plastic/Tea/Coal Fines/Sewage Sludge Wastes, Torrefaction, Gasification), and S and V chemistry in the Stretford process liquor.

On the academic side, he has obtained two master’s degrees in chemistry from University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), Johannesburg, SA (Title: Selective recovery of metal values from a spent catalyst composition: Distinction) and Vaal University of Technology (Title: Selective removal of iron and titanium from an aluminum containing aqueous phase). Furthermore, he obtained a PhD (Metallurgy) from University of Pretoria (UP) and two post doctorate qualifications from NWU and VUT.
